My 48th birthday had arrived…
I don’t mind getting old, it is a privilege that many don’t get so I love to celebrate and thanks to my amazing husband Michael, I celebrate in style!
The Ritz-Carlton Koh Samui is absolutely stunning, pure luxury with beautiful staff.
I woke up in our “Ultimate Pool Villa”. Now let me tell you, there is nothing missing from this beautiful room, luxury fit out, full size bath, outside shower, ocean views, private pool and private outdoor deck, room 9115 if your interested in the best Villa at the Ritz-Carlton.
The resort is set over 50 acres so to get around you call for a buggy. Drivers scooting around all day driving people to and from their Villa’s to the pool or breakfast or to the reception if you are leaving for a day trip. We called for our buggy to drive us to breakfast.
We arrived at breakfast and were greeted with the usual loving welcome, Beauty was not working today which was a shame but she had been with us for breakfast and dinner the previous couple of days. The trusty Carl was with us again and today tho. The Buffett breakfast here at the Ritz-Carlton is the biggest I have ever seen and I have seen a lot of Buffett Breakfasts on my travels LOL
After we had finished our delicious breakfast, the resort staff surprised me with a beautiful birthday plate to celebrate, singing “happy birthday”.
Yes I cried, it was so beautiful and so thoughtful of them all. I was so surprised!!!
After breakfast, we headed to the pool. On our walk there another buggy driver stopped to wish me Happy Birthday… I could feel the love already today!
We spent the bulk of our morning there… Carl was at the pool working as well and kept the Champagne following for us! We had lunch by the pool then off to the Spa Village where we had booked a Koh Samui Signature Experience… a 3 hour “Thai for two”
We were escorted into our room where we found an amazing towel arrangement set up for us… I again shed a few tears… the staff here are just so thoughtful.
This experience for both of us began with their signature Songkran Shower. I had the coconut scrub and Michael had the Thai Herbal Scrub to accompany the water.
TBH I felt like they were washing us down at the morgue… because I am pretty confident that it is the same table set up LOL
We then rinsed off and headed into the massage room for a Custom Thai Massage and Thai Herbal Compress known as Prakrop.
OMG… this was just amazing… I requested a medium massage so it felt relaxing yet when needed she really got those knots out! I didn’t realise how much my body needed a massage….
We then had a traditional Thai Herbal Facial…. This was my husbands first ever facial LOL… not sure if he will have another but hey it really did finish off our spa experience perfectly…
3 hours of pure heaven!!!!
Our driver returned us to our room for a quick change… when walking into our room, a birthday cake and fresh fruit had been set up for me xxx
I can’t explain how special I was being made to feel today by everyone at the Ritz-Carlton.
Our driver returned to drive us to dinner at “Pak Thai”.
As we were seated, I realised that they had made a Happy Birthday display out of coffee beans for me…. Can you imagine how long it took them to place each individual coffee bean???
Yep I cried again… I seriously have never cried this much on my birthday before… happy tears of course!
Dinner was delicious… so many spices and flavours but way to much chilli for me LOL My husband loves chilli though so I made him taste everything first 😂
The team at Pak Thai were lovely and we were being very spoilt… the person working at the bar kept sending drinks our way to try… and we were happy to try out his new creations for him LOL
We had eaten and were starting to wind down, enjoying the serenity when again I was totally surprised with a birthday cake from the staff at Pak Thai. They even made a card for me… Yeh yeh you get it now, I cried LOL
The love that was shown to me today from people I didn’t know prior to a few days ago was mind blowing… I don’t know how to express my gratitude or how to repay the beautiful and caring people.

Upon reflection…. My husband got out of today pretty easy LOL
The cakes, the love, the attention was given by each individual person, not something that he had organised but hey I am giving him all the credit for it… he did organise the holiday, location and activities…
He did well…
Only problem I see here is that perhaps he set the bar way too high, way too soon… LOL
